Happy new year!
It's already past midnight it Japan. They are already in 2011! And we still have around 5 hours till that. So I'm celebrating the New Year twice. First, with japanese penpals, second, with my family.

Best wishes to everyone.

lol. I noticed something between Germany and the Philipppines. In Germany (even when I was in LA, California), the fireworks primarily come after midnight. But in the Philippines, you guys do it from around 6pm to just several minutes after midnight. It's kind of like, in DE we celebrate the new year, but in PH they celebrate the past year :heh:

And seriously, the skies over Manila are smokey, someone ought to light air-raid floodlights:heh:. Are the fireworks really that cheap? :uhoh:

Home-made fireworks are. The cost of explosives from raw materials usually attribute to the fertilisers and the colouring powder (calcium for orange, potassium for bluish-purple, etc). The rocket and fuse systems can easily be made, or simply substituted for emergency rocket flares used by powerboat owners.

Anyway, it is 1/1/11 over here in Singapore. So.....

Happy New Nyaa~! May this new year be full of catgirls for everyone!

Nozomi is mine! Stay away from my kitty!

I don't think most of these people make their own, there's plenty roadside stalls selling these, I'm guessing from China, since Chinese goods here are seemingly aplenty. Seriously, it's one of those "you got to see it to believe it" kind of things, it really is smokey here (I'd take a pic, but lighting is poor for my camera, a revived 2002 model:heh:)

Think about it, they've been going off since after 6PM. Get your gas masks! :heh:

*Listenin' to my tunes, some Yomanda and Alex Silverblade.
