NicoNicoDouga Video embed

i wonder if animesuki can make code to embed video from NND to this forum just like youtube

well one of forum can do this (http://vocaloidotaku.net/index.php?/...ng-nicovideos/) i wonder if animesuki can do same

NightWish 2012-01-22 08:36

Care to define the mark-up for me? I don't use NND but the example you link to seems to be inserting a script tag with the source based on a mangled form of the URL entered by users (between a "media" mark-up). Lots of pit-falls in that from a security prospective, if the URL is not properly cleaned. It might be relying on features of their forum software (IP Boards), given the generality of the tag name, to make adding support easier. Doesn't mean we can't (almost anything is possible) just it might take more work.

No fundamental objections to adding it but I don't have the time to research the requirement, like I say I've not used NND myself. [Someone] Give me something more technically complete to work with and I'll consider it.

i thought the idea is site admin can add BB code on their forum by using script modification.

BB code basically shortcut to to larger HTML file. for example

Quote:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/N1tkHckQgo0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
to

Quote:

[you tube]N1tkHckQgo0[/you tube]
i think admin can easily add another BB code using similar method like turning this

Quote:

to

Quote:

[nico]sm16746937[nico]
or something like that

vbulletin offer custom bbcode i think

https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/bb_code

so i dont think it not be a proble for admin like you

if you need help i probably can ask the site admin of that site how to do it

another forum

Please do NOT try using this tag yet (it might be disabled in the near future). I'm posting it here as a sort of beta test. It requires JavaScript. If you have problems with it or this page as a result, please let me know:

Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)

seem work fine. start bit slow but smooth video

i appreciated you hard work :D

HasuMasu 2012-02-08 09:38

That's a fabulous looking player, I don't use Nico much but I do agree that it is appropriate for this forum to have that feature.

I looked and looked, but it appears they only provide a JavaScript interface to the videos in-lining. Additionally that script uses (in every case I tried) a "document.write" method of adding content to the page. This causes lots of problems, specifically it doesn't work with the forum's pusdo-AJAX functions. Long-story-short it was a bit of a headache, but the solution (found while solving another BB code issue), while maybe not suitable for all platforms, seems to work well enough. Edit: Sorry, wasn't clear why I'm telling you this: the solution involved making the script download happen after the page loads, hence the observable delay while it downloads another script, runs it, and then adds the video to the page.

RRW 2012-02-08 09:51

can i try it now?

NightWish 2012-02-08 10:04

Well... you could but I'd rather not. Basically be aware that I might disable it at any moment; and so any videos you post will stop working if I do.

Edit: I should say, feel free to try it in this thread. It is useful testing.

Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)
apparently you need to refresh it to make it show up

i probably use it if there is no other option or special reason like video keep getting removed on youtube or have ip block

Cosmic Eagle 2012-02-09 01:51

Doesn't seem to start for me....

It can run when I'm logged in to Nicovideo right?

Correct. Can you provide a screen shot showing what you do get? I know which browser you are using and a number of people have tested it specifically, including me. So, unless you have a plug-in, extension, or configuration setting causing a problem, I'm not sure why it would not appear. That said, if it does appear and just doesn't play, that's possibly a NicoNico specific issue.

Do you get similar problems with:Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)

I get

I'm reliably informed that "IE needs to grab the latest version of flash itself for it to work." Meaning if you upgrade to the latest version of flash, you'll probably find the video works.

monster 2012-02-10 15:43

I'm using Chromium 16 (on Lubuntu) with Flash 11.1 and none of the NicoNico videos works. The player control works and (presumably) Japanese characters scroll across the video when it is played, but the video itself remains black as in the image above.

The YouTube video works.

RRW 2012-02-10 16:03

maybe nico video as general

can you play a video in here

I'm not 100% sure but I think that will be something to do with Nico Nico limiting access to the video for some reason (possibly traffic, peak hour use by non-registered user, etc.) or simply a problem with the compatibility of their player.

Basically if the YouTube version works, there is nothing wrong with the BB code tag I created (and thus anything in my control to fix). If the video controls display and you can press play, then the video script created by Nico Nico is working, and thus it is that specific content or your link to their site that is at fault. If the controls don't appear, then it is a problem with their video script/player. As mentioned previously that could be due to a flash version check and upgrade attempt presumably performed by the player but being blocked by browser's security.

Bottom line: if the button (icon and text in the top left) functions, anything else is likely to be beyond my control.

monster 2012-02-10 16:12

Yeah, I guess I just can't watch NicoNico videos in general. Oh well.
