The Videogame Special Offers thread

Here you can post any special offers you have discovered for video games, either online or in your local stores. Please give some details about the offer, particularly any special terms and conditions. No need to go over the top -- if the offer is online, you can link to the store making the offer.

Any mention of pirated games, or stores found to be peddling such things, will be deleted and may earn the poster a ban. Please make sure what you are posting is a legitimate special offer.

Do not use this thread to try and sell any games you happen to own.

Thank you for allowing the thread I requested, Daniel. I'd like to add, whenever Steam has one of it's major sales periods, I think they should get their own threads. That can be discussed and decided by mods, however.

Green Man Gaming, which may be Steam's biggest competitor, has a sale on The Last Remnant for PC. It gives you an activation code to make it work on Steam, but I checked into things and this site is a legit and safe site. You can find info about it on wikipedia. This online game store is available in many countries.

Info on The Last Remnant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Remnant

The Last Remnant is $8.99. http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/e.../last-remnant/

Best Buy (United States) has some great deals on two Wii exclusives. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is selling for $4.99. Metroid: Other M is selling for $4.99. New copies, not pre-owned.

I can personally vouch for Green Man Gaming (GMG), very handy when game publishers decide to charge more depending on your region, such as Skyrim. It's a bit of a shame, since it is the game publishers who set the price on Steam (and not Valve, except on their own games of course):
Compare prices from various regions here. Full price for Skyrim on Steam is USD89.99 for Australians.
On GMG, however, they charge the U.S. full price of USD59.99.

GMG also promote themselves with a variety of vouchers, which can sometimes save you even more money.
Note that only games with "Third Party DRM: Steam" will give you a Steam code to use in the Steam client (and similarly "Origin" for some EA games, if you live in the UK or the USA IIRC). Otherwise, you have to use Capsule, GMG's downloader client, which might not be suitable for many people.

Quakecon has come around again, which means savings (25% off) on id software and Bethesda titles over on Steam, as well as a few daily deals from August 2-5.
Today's daily deal is Skyrim (50% off / USD29.99), to celebrate the release of the Dawnguard DLC on PC.

For the duration of the sale, you can pick up the Quakecon Bundle includes all of id's and Bethesda's currently released games and DLC for around the USD100-135 mark (updated since last year to include RAGE, Skyrim and Dawnguard), with additional savings if you pre-order Dishonored on Steam (depending on your region).

If you play Team Fortress 2, you may be interested in the TF2 Quakecon Bundle (already included as part of the above Quakecon Bundle), which includes these in-game items for USD12.99: "The Original"; "Wingstick"; "Dragonborn Helmet"; "The Anger" and "Pip-Boy".

Green Man Gaming had a few issues with their payment system recently, with customers having had payments falsely rejected as a result of a new measure put in place to slow down fraudulent transactions and U.S. banks rejecting payments to GMG thinking it was a gambling site.
They now appear to be mostly resolved, and as a gesture of goodwill, have a 25% off voucher that can be used store-wide on all games, valid until August 10th 1100 UTC:
ORDER-NTCOM-PLETE

You can read more about it here. As an example of the discounts, you can get Dawnguard for USD15, pre-purchase Borderlands 2 for USD37.50 or Company of Heroes 2 for USD45.

For the weekend, the Crysis (1, Warhead and 2) series of games is 75% off over on Steam. Note that both Crysis 1 and Warhead still have the SecuROM DRM (5 PC activation limit), whilst Crysis 2 Maximum Edition does not (it might also seem this new edition also includes the DX11 and HRT packs).

Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY was released very recently, and is currently 20% off for the next few days.
