At the Wonderful M@gic event in Yokohama yesterday, an anime for Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls was announced. Will air in 2015 and have the same staff as the original series and movie (A-1 Pictures)

Adding in some background info - Cinderella Girls is a social game spin-off from the original Idolm@ster on Mobage. As custom with social games, there are 100+ idols to collect, although some of the more prominent ones are voiced. It's in the same universe as Idolm@ster, so you see the original characters as well. I believe they also made an appearance in the recent Idolm@ster movie, so it's not like this was without any precedent.

2015 is gonna be a good year.

The official iDOLM@STER Blog has announced that the latest iDOLM@STER anime, Cinderella Girls, will begin on January 10, 2015, and will have a very Cinderella-like appeal as it will be shown when the clock strikes midnight. As the series takes its name from the classic fairy tail, the midnight airing is in honor of the Cinderella story itself, and would only be fitting as the anime will be about ordinary girls turning into something special, in this case, instead of turning into princesses, they turn into idols.
