Since there are no forum rules yet, I though I'd post the rules from the old forum, I guess we should use these as "guidelines" until the official forum rules are posted. :)
In case you have a short attention span, here are the most important rules:
- Do not ask for or post links to licensed anime or manga
- Do not ask for anything else illegal, like ROMs, Warez, etc.
- Do not ask when stuff will be released, just have patience!
- Do not spam
- Do not harass, flame or start fights
- Do not crosspost (post the same message in more than one forum)
- Do not post nonsense (and learn to write, this isn't kindergarten!)
- Do not use more than 1 account
- Signature image limits: 500x80 pixels, 50000 bytes

In other to keep this forum tidy, fun to visit and the conversations legal, it has been necessary to enforce some rules on this forum. Failure to follow these rules can result in being banned from this forum.
- Do not ask for licensed anime or manga
As described in this excellent thread by ato fansubs are technically illegal as they breach copyright. However as AnimeSuki.com does not wish to be associated with piracy, discussions about unlawfully getting licensed anime or manga or even DVD rips are not allowed. This means it is not allowed to post links to sites with such licensed material or ways to obtain it illegally, or ask for links or instructions to be emailed or PM'ed to you. Threads which break this rule will be either closed or simply deleted.
- Do not ask for other illegal materials either
Obviously discussions about getting any other illegal materials, such as ROMs, ISOs, Warez etc. are not allowed either. Threads which break this rule will be either closed or simply deleted.
- Do not ask for when stuff will be released
Do not ask when episodes will be released. They'll be released once the fansub group is finished with them. All your whining will do is irritate fansub group staff and make them leave the scene. And that will mean even slower releases or none at all. So just have some PATIENCE. Threads which break this rule will be deleted.
- No Spamming
You are not allowed to post the URL and/or name of any website which you are in any way affiliated with to new threads or as replies to threads where mentioning that URL is not relevant and/or the only reason for posting seems to be to advertise the site or product. Offering products for sale or trade is also not allowed and considered spamming. This rule does not apply to signatures. If you are not sure, please ask first by contacting the Webmaster or one of the Moderators.
- No insulting and/or harassment
Insulting and/or harassing other forum members on the forum or through the PM feature is not tolerated. Any inappropiate language will be removed and if threads turn into flame wars they will be closed.
- Do not cross post or post the same message more than once
If you want to post a message, do so in the forum that is best suited for it. Do not post it to existing threads which are not relevant to your message and post it only once.
- Do not post nonsense
If you don't have anything to say in a thread or don't know the answer to a question, please do not post that you don't have anything to say or do not know the answer the question. Posts such as "I agree", "OK", "Me too" are also considered nonsense posts. You are not required to reply to every single thread in a forum. Please only reply if you have something useful to add to the thread.
- No Personal Chats
If you want to chat with another member of the forum, please use the PM feature, email or instant messengers. Threads which contain large amounts of posts by just 2 members will be closed.
- Do not use more than one member account concurrently
Lately some forum members have been creating and using more than one member account to appear as more than one person on the forum. This behavior is no longer tolerated. Use only one account over a period of time and do not frequently change accounts. If you want a different username please contact an Administrator.
- Do not post inappropiate images (porno/hentai)
Do not use the image or attachement features of the forum to post images with adult content (porno/hentai) or other images not suitable for minors.
- Signature Images
Putting images in your signature is allowed. However the following limitations apply:
- Maximum imagewidth 500 pixels for all images combined.
- Maximum imageheight 60 pixels (with maximum 2 lines of text in your signature) or 80 pixels (without any additional text in your signature) for all images combined.
- Maximum filesize of 50000 bytes for all images combined.
- Any annoying signature images (either because of animations or content) may be removed at the sole discretion of the administrator or moderators.
The signature rules above are loosly enforced. Basically this rule will give us the right to remove any image we deem inappropiate either because of size or content.
- "Army Building" games spam
Posting links on the forum to any online "army building" games like those found on outwar.com or kingsofchaos.com will result in an immediate ban, without warning.
Rule violations can be reported through the "Report" link beneath each post. Depending on the severity of the violation, violators will either receive a warning or be immediatly banned from the forum, at the discretion of the Administrators or Moderators.
Although these tips are in general not enforced as rules, it is highly suggested you read them.
- Check if your question has already been answered
Please use the Search feature of this forum to see if your question has already been asked (and possibly answered) before. If this is the case, please post in the existing thread instead of creating a new one.
- Use informative subjects
Please use informative subjects when posting new threads. Posting threads with subjects such as "help me" is not recommended.
- Post system configuration in case of technical problems
If you are posting a question about a technical problem with software (such as emulators) or hardware, please mention your system configuration (and exact error message, if applicable) as the other members will be able to help you better that way.
- Do not double post
If you want to add something to a message you have just posted, please use the "Edit" button under your post to edit your post rather than posting a new reply.
- Watch your shift key
Do not post in all caps. Please make your posts as readable as possible for other members.

Q: How do I get a picture under my username?
A: Those pictures are called Avatars. Anyone can select one by clicking on the "Profile" button on top, followed by clicking the "Avatar" link (middle of the bottom row).
Q: Can I have a custom avatar?
A: Yes. Custom avatar restrictions are maximum 100x100 pixels and 50000 bytes filesize.
Q: Can I have a custom user title?
A: Yes. You can set one by clicking the "Profile" button on top, followed by clicking the "Edit Profile" link.
Q: Can I be a moderator?
A: Ask and be ignored. Moderators are chosen at certain times, you can't (in general) request to become one. In any case you need some experience on this forum to become a moderator.
