There is something I agree about what the crazy guy said, you win by scoring and there is nothing else.
That's why madrid is the king but they have so much hate because all the excuses of the world, but they score and they win, that's it. Barcelona is a living meme now because of that, you can play with 1000000000 passes in the match but if you lose what is the point?, it's not about who deserves to win because one team played better than the other, you score and that's it. It's simple. Just watch the barcelona vs bayer match, barcelona was killing them but bayer won, that's it. I don't know about this survival soccer but let's see. Ao ashi set the bar too high and I doubt this will be as good, meh I'm with the three chapter rule with this. |
I don't go in thinking it's soccer that will compete with Ao Ashi.
I'm going in this is Squid Game in a soccer setting. I liked the first episode more than I expected, though I don't know how the whole "be selfish" shtick will last. How can they even seemingly play a team game (I think the OP showed something like that) with selfish forwards? |
Actually, the whole selfish striker thing is the only remotely tenuous connection to real soccer in the entire premise (or execution) - though for some reason the mangaka decided to create a fictitious French striker to illustrate it. There in an element of truth to it, but Blue Lock's take on it is comically simplistic.
In order for this to have any chance whatsoever to work for me, I have to divorce myself from the idea that it's a sports anime at all, much less a soccer one. Because it isn't. |
Ego said the Japan team has good teamwork but hasn't won yet. How will developing a selfish striker be useful in that team? Maybe there's more to it than that so I'm intrigued but the premise definitely is comically simplistic.
Best to just take this as like a survival game anime but using soccer. The players already got physical since it wasn't mentioned in the rules that you cannot do that. So anything goes just to reach the top like how a survival game is. |
Finally, the strikers battle royale is here.
:D Quote:
I think fictional player (Noa) existence is writer bias to France (MC is France fans) to solve 'issue' on how his favorite team have no notable strikers but midfielder (Zidane) for manga about strikers. :heh: |
Yeah probably should have added World Cup. But that's what I meant, they haven't won the World Cup yet. So with a team with good teamwork, will a powerful but selfish striker be the thing they need to get the win?

I know this isn't the standard sports show, but why was the 1st test and then other physical tests done barefoot? Surprisingly that's the only part that really bugged me so far.
|
What I don't understand is the "ruining their dreams" part, so let's say that every soccer player dream is to win the world cup, so I get with the blue lock project your position as striker in the japan team is out if you lose like kira, but it looks like they aren't going to play anymore not even professionally.
They are still the best choosen by the project so they have chance to play professionally even if it's domestically, but they made it sound like they can't play anymore and even if so, they have the authority to do that? |
