Small download, HUGE upload

For the holidays, I'm not in my usual place. The house I'm in now is my parents; they have Earthlink Wireless DSL. The weird problem I'm having with BT is for EVERY file, the upload rate will be 5 to 10 times bigger than the download. A-keep's Chro Crusade 4, for example, is going along at 5 kb download/49 kb upload and will take over 4 hours to complete. I'm currently using the latest version of BT. Any suggestions, please? I'm here for 2 weeks and will never catch up at this rate. Thanks.

how do you check ports? I have no options like that..

a helpful guide to opening ports can be found at http://www.emule-project.net/
go to "help", then to "ports, firewalls and routers" read as much as you can stomach (the more u read the more u'll understand and the quicker you'll fix ur prob).
after that u will understand forwarding ports, emule uses different ports, so instead of opening tcp 4662 and udp 4672, or whatever it is for emule, open tcp 6881-6999 (or 6881-6889 if usin an older bt client, or it is unfeasable for u to open 118 ports)

oh and sort out any firewall issues too if that don't finish the job off.

corp20 DAMNIT MAN you may have just solved my problem. modem firewalled

i have all of my firewalls turned off yet it still tells me im behind a firewall. and my downloads are TAKING FOREVER. its horible and yes 4 hours for a download is simply great compared to what im getting.

bastard cable people...
