Fave Jpop artist or Jrock band( or both )
I was wondering who are popular nowadays, im still for L'arc en Ciel how about u guys?
Was: Fave Jpop artist or Jrock band ( or both )
When posting in this thread please explain, justify or describe the choice of your favourite jpop artist or/and jrock band :)
Hmm... my reply to the previous thread was lost.
Anyway, I used to love Siam Shade and I still love them now (disbanded). They are not a visual group, but their songs are defintely hard rock though sometimes chirpy happy too. There is Hideki's raging vocals, Junji 's mad drummings, Natin on solid bass, Kazuma the leader on backup and not to forget, Diata on guitar absolutely rocks. :D
I would recommend everything by them, but these are my favourites, especially Triptych which is a masterpiece. :p
-Lovesick you don't know
-1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou
-Tears I Cried
i love gothic music by malice mizer ( disband )
i love lareine ( disband ) too
apart from those visual kei... i simply love hikki
Well I think the 5678's are pretty good(kill bill)soundtrack, umm the Von Bondies, the Registrators, and Guitar Wolf are al great bands, but not exactly"Jpop, rock"more garage & punk.
that's my two cents
The Pillows, The Penpals, HAV, Asian Kung-fu Generation and Glay. :)
So many great artists to chose from.
Pop = Ayumi Hamasaki, Mikuni Shimokawa
Rock = L'Arc~en~Ciel, Pierrot, Siam Shade
All pretty obvious answers, but they're only obvious cause they really are good. :)
Humm, I like: L'Arc~en~Ciel, BoA, Ayumi Hamasaki..
Guess that's it..
Oh wait! I forgot Kageyama Hironobu! :D
I really only listen to JRock; pop is doing nothing for me at the moment. My favorite Jrockers are -
Janne da Arc
L'Arc~en~ciel (can't wait for their SMILE album!)
The Brilliant Green
Dir en Grey
All of Laruku's solo projects except Yoshi's (Hyde, Tetsu69, S.O.A.P. [sons of all pussys])
.... those are all I can think of off the top of my head....
And, lastly, but overall the best - Miss Shiina (Shena) Ringo. If you have not heard any of her songs, I command you to go out and get her cds! Gods, this woman is talented.
I don't really have a couple of artists that i follow other than Utada Hikaru since she has such a hummble and gentle voice. Other than that, i usualy just listen to individual songs that appeal to me.
Edit: Well since no one has mentioned her, Mika Nakashima is also a fairly good artist. Her voice isn't the greatest but her songs have a nice vibe to them.
all time favorites:
single: Matsu Takako(Koibito, best song ever)
Hikaru Utada (automatic, sakura drop)
Ayumi Hamasaki (dearest)
group: Fukai Mori(deep forest) the one sang in Inuyasha~
offtopic: Korean: KISS (group) b/c i am a girl..... unbelievable good.....
