:(

Liked his performance in the movie Ghost.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't even know he had cancer until recently. >_<

Mystique 2009-09-14 23:10

yah, he had been fighting bad health all year to the point pple thought he had died already.

To the Dirty Dancing and Ghost star, here's hoping you're having the "time of your life" on the other side.
Rest in Peace :)

don't feel too bad, according to reports, he apparently kept it secret till like last year.

Shadow Kira01 2009-09-15 01:18

Isn't Mr. Swayze the lead actor of "Ghost"?

May he rest in peace...

He was, as well as a host of other movies, like Dirty Dancing, To Wong Foo, and so on....

He was filming a tv show while battling the cancer, and refusing painkillers, if I recall rightly, which is striking, I doubt I'd've had that kind of chutzpah....

Brave, brave man....

mg1942 2009-09-15 02:41

I dunno if this is true but he lived with pancreatic cancer for 2 years.
That's the longest i've heard, most people die with that kind of complication in just few months.

Fipskuul 2009-09-15 02:48

Even though he didn't have a very long lasting successful career, those two movies quoted above, Dirty Dancing and Ghost, were enough for me because of their impact. Not many can achieve that....

kenjiharima 2009-09-15 02:55

Now he's really a ghost. Kidding aside another great actor died....May God Rest his Soul. He was great in Ghost with Demi Moore and Dirty Dancing, love his classic movies.

Here's his interview with his his sickness.

I read about it on the newspaper first, where they showed a pic of him leaving the hospital. Appeared to be in a good mood and even said hello at the camera with a smile.

Dirty Dancing, Road House, Point Break, City of Joy, Donnie Darko where he played against his typecast, 11:14 and the classic epic North & South.

Fuck, I didn't even know he had cancer ;____;

Tiberium Wolf 2009-09-15 08:39

I loved the classic epic North & South where he was in it. Another star gone. :(
