Annoying delays

There are a number of cases like searching and posting where you must wait a certain amount of time before searching or posting again. I understand the need for these to protect against spamming and DDOS attacks, but couldn't these rules be relaxed after someone has been a member for a while? Perhaps using the same criteria as now determine when someone is eligible to distribute rep?

In my case I posted a reply in one tab, then when I went to post the comment for a different thread I had pending in another tab, I hit the "wait 60 seconds" rule.

Sounds like a brilliant idea to me. Maybe not 0 delay (good posters do wrong too) but something like 3s or something similar that only accounts for human criteria not bot criteria.

Feel free to suggest this to the vB development team so they can implement it in their next release :)

Translation: there doesn't seem to be a knob for that.

But it does sound like a worthy suggestion. Sometimes I just type and execute faster than the system allows.

Feel free to write, test and maintain the plugins and hacks yourself. Once you do feel free to submit them to us for consideration.

That's what I meant. Uh, I'll take that as a "yes".
I'll look into it next time I have some time.
