Brief note - this thread was a bit of copy/pasta, I don't know for sure if Unicorn is licensed yet but for now I left those rules in just to be on the safe side. Next episode I'll have a more accurate opening post.

Enjoy. :)

Spoiler for NT-D mode:

Goosebumps scattered on floor even though I've watch 3 times... Great job done on Unicorn, Sunrise! ^_^

Shiroth 2010-02-23 06:08

How can i not give this a 10?

DragoZERO 2010-02-23 08:03

This is an 11/10 through and through.

I'm still in awe over it and was giddy happy when it was loading to play. I haven't been this excited since White Album...I miss this excitement.

Oh, and I think we'll be getting some interesting romance too. There's that girl who like's Bagher and I am wondering who that guy piloting the ReGZ with the locket around his wrist was.

Cont. from Generic Discussion Thread:

Why they can't realize keep fighing will do serious damage to the colonial..

Londo Bell is a little upsetting. I am questioning who they are and all. However, that cyber newtype did a lot of damage herself. She blew up that suit's reactor inside the colony. You can easily kill the pilot alone with the use of funnels.

And where did you think the alias "Audrey Burn" and her character design comes from ?

I was unsure whether or not that was a real movie. Audrey Hepburn isn't as popular in the US as she is in Japan. I did surmise that the movie poster was the source of her alias though.

That's because the OVA cut off an entire chunk from the novel which did a pretty good intro of the detachment from Londo Bell which that pilot belongs to. It pretty much explain why the crew was there, unlike the OVA.

It will be best to lift an entire paragraph from the novel to explain this :-

Quote:

Though she had made preparations, nothing can prepare her for the harsh reality once she stepped into the open. For someone who had never handle cash or used a credit card before, she had only been taught that without money, it's impossible to buy even a bread, hence the simple mistake of stepping out without money. Naivety. Thinking about that word only made her all the more depressed since she never had the experience of being out on her own.

Speaking of that, she had once watch on old movie about a young princess of a small nation who sneaked out to experience freedom and love for a day. The movie was made sometime in the Old Century. Though the story was nothing special, the actress who portrayed the innocent Princess left a deep impression on her and such the movie was one of her favourite. Who was that actress again ?
As you can see, the OVA tries to explain how the alias of "Audrey Burn" comes about by simply focusing on a fictional movie poster based on a real world movie production of "Roman Holiday"

Great episode overall. Characters, music, fight sequences, etc, etc. All was awesome. Been awhile since an Gundam series got me excited about it. Looking forward to the next episode whenever it comes out.

ac195 2010-02-23 09:17

Hahaha... they just had to save the last line of the episode for that word.

Fishfood1 2010-02-23 09:55

if i gave this epi less than a 10, i'd kill myself. that's how amazing i thought the first episode was.

while i never read the novel, so i guess i don't know what's being shafted or not. overall i don't see any big problem that i would complain about.

Oh yeah! :heh: Then it flew into the camera and it ended. Getting me all excited and then leaving me hanging. I love and hate it at the same time. haha.

I liked Bagher's classic line when he launched. It got killed in GS, but it's a good one.

FuzzyWuzzy 2010-02-23 10:32

He went G-Gundam transformation in the end.
I thought he was going to say the lines also.

"This hand of mine glows with an awesome POWER! Its burning grip tells me to defeat you! Take this! My love, my anger, and all of my sorrow! SHINING FINGER SWORRRRRDDDD!!! GO! GO! GO!!!"

Pretty good episode . As usual this is Gundam :) and a cliffhanger ..
Next ova in autumn ?

MS Kshatriya and Gundam Unicorn Destroy mode look great .

The hero name "Banagher" is weird imo ..

9/10 for me. Although it was great, loved it very much, they still left out some important details even for non-novel readers. The random appearance of Nahel Argama and some dude with the locket in the ReZel. The old guy that was sleeping at the beginning of the show. Also, the suits that went fighting in the Colony, was that part of Bright Noah's Londo Bell Task Force? I think I heard Vist saying Bright Noah's group was in Londenion or something like that =/

FLCL 2010-02-23 12:33

So basically the kshatriya is a Quinn Mantha, except instead of a loli elpeo puru, it has a haman clone as the pilot.

Win x 1000, 10/10

Spoiler for audrey's identity:

I find those things as motive to keep watching. It leaves you with mystery. Everyone likes mystery.

It is an awesome suit. We'll be seeing a lot of perfected prototypes.

Spoiler for Audrey's True Identifty:

Who said she doesn't? She just used a fake name because she didn't want Bagher to know who she was.

And I added spoiler tags. Until they say it in the series, it's a spoiler because so far, there is no proof to what her true identity is...no matter how obvious some of you may think it is.

Setsuna_F.Seiei 2010-02-23 14:52

Hopefully they'll reveal some more info later on. Also would like to know who's this "Alberto" dude that betrayed Vist

Great episode. Having to wait till the fall to get the next one isn't so great. :(

Universal Century has always been my favorite "universe", and it's great to see what looks to be another solid story set there. Now if only Char was still alive... :p

If I had one quible over the episode, it was Banagher's somewhat creepy exclamation of wanting Audrey to "need" him. Queue psycho music!

Still, some emo angst is expected from our Gundam pilots, so I'm willing to cut him a little slack if he promises to grow out of it by the end of the series! Heck, that headbutt of his might make me forgive him already. :/

Oh, and mad props to the nameless Feddie who got out of his suit and shot that bazooka-thingy at Marida. You've got balls man. Balls.
