Eh, first time I've seen this compared to AoT. Sidonia's nothing like AoT, at least atmosphere-wise, and Nagate not as quick to anger as Eren (thank god). Not going to deny the harem-ish aspects...

I find Manaka's quest for independence here much interesting than Hikari's growth to be honest. I've met people like Hikari in rl, and just as people in rl might change for the better through...

Agreed. But I do hope they don't just marginalized towards fujoshi alone. More female empowerment shows please (and K-on doesn't count Kyo-Ani!) which is still severely lacking for me.

I wonder what some of you here would think of Tekkonkinkreet, though that one obviously got a bigger budget.

Loved the first episode btw. Really intense. Voiceacting's one of the best I've heard...

...That is sad (and messed up). Although, in this episode it didn't feel like Satoru (Saki was still very much hung up on Maria here which is reasonable) was phonying it up. I thought his actions...

Oh, pleaaazze. The only thing K has in common with Baccano is the huge amount of characters. Baccano was actually self-aware (Carol, anyone?) with a lot of chaotic, deranged violence in it. I like...

Eh, I don't think it's hating shoujo per se as disliking the melodrama (and as for some, the unrealistic characters) which, believe it or not, is a valid criticism. I like Sakamichi no Apollon, mind...

I watched Kara no Kyoukai before when it first came out, at least the first two movies, I kind of lost interest because I found the artwork and direction lifeless. But that was years ago. I'll give...

I don't know man, I mean I dig Koike too but if anything this show is closer to Michiko to Hatchin (which was Yamamoto's first major directorial work) as compared to Redline/Afro Samurai.

I love Baccano! I thought the music, action and setting (I wish there were more manga/anime set in that era!) blended seamlessly.

Manga/Anime like Shigurui

I've just finished Shigurui (both the anime and manga) and I can't help but be surprised how much I ended up loving it. It's hyper-violent and gorey at times which I'm not usually a fan of, but it's...
