This was the exact reason why I didn't watch it for so long. Even while watching it, those scenes didn't add nothing at all to the story. To me it seems strange that an Anime with such a good story...

Nicely noted about the infrastructure and stick grenade! Indeed the valkyria road system is by far inferior to the WOII infrastructure. Seems that the writer had in mind to confuse history lovers...

One that has a rather stylish environment is Basilisk. I didn't like the first episode because it was to stylish and violent. The violence stays but the story gets better, after a while I liked it.
