If a book is not originating from Japan, does that mean it can't be classed as a J Light Novel?

Eg. Has anyone read ADAPTATION by G. C. Huxley? The story didn't originate from Japan but...

Too much tying-up of side-stories is gonna be done... seems like there was too much of them at the expense of the main story focus, Yuji and Shana. Needs a rewrite to tone them...

I'm exactly in the same situation, which is why I'm still after a summary of vols 11-13. The anime reminds us of what's in the novels, but these volumes are sketchy......

I think it's fun with all the postulated outcomes for the final volume. I smile at the idea of the author reading this forum for ideas to use (or avoid), especially if the author didn't have one!
