The LA does do a good job on focusing on the main characters and getting rid of extraneous minor characters, giving more time to Ayumi and her mom. I especially like how Masumi is portrayed in the LA...

lol, I remember those scenes but unfortunately some of the minor chars look too much alike so I get them all mixed up. I have to watch this again during the baseball season :)
