Awww I agree, Chrono crusade is so lovely... Well... I think it was quite a hard task for Chrono to get back to where Rosette was because he didn't want to stay as a deamon and waste rosette's life...

Ahhh... That is a hard one... the only think that remotley comes to mind is YuYu Hakusho... that has a little bit gangy but it's not really... I don't know about the large fights but it is based...
