Yeah, they probably have some special bootloader or image file to make sure people have to buy the special hard drive.

You could try, but don't expect it to work.

The easiest way to solve stupid stuff like this is to annoy your ISP's tech support. If non-BT downloads are going at the normal speed, then it's probably just the people you're getting the movie...
