My greatest disappointment with this explanation of the hougyoku is that it pretty much obliterates any hope I had of a Sado arc or at least a cool explanation for his powers. Seems like a colossal...

I don't think they're saying it's the "only" option for Inoue to give up on Ichigo, I think they mean that the "best" option for Inoue's character right now would be to move on.

Can we please stop using "shonen law" as a reason for our preferred pairing? Bleach may use some cliches and stereotypes, but I think it's original enough to stand on its own. Give Kubo some credit....
