Ah, PEACH-PIT. Their animation track record with DearS and the Rozen Maiden series is almost complete with ZOMBIE-LOAN and the upcoming Shugo Chara!
For some reason, I was never intrigued by the manga, even though I buy G Fantasy every month for Pani Poni. It's probably because of the bishies, yeah that's got to be it.
Ugh, Suzumura Kenichi and Sakurai Takahiro... too much for my tastes, although they're perfect for their roles. Kind of reminds me why I dropped Black Blood Brothers after one episode. Kuwashima Houko is as versatile as ever, definitely meganekko moe with her performance with Michiru. Honorary mention goes to Saitou Chiwa, who voices
Shota Yuuta, the spitting image of my Souseiseki
Ever since the first Negima series, I had negative connotations regarding Xebec (including their Fafner team, M2), but their recent title, Hitohira, certainly alleviated that. The artwork is decent, complete with the glossy finish they seem to have fallen in love with.
Although the characters irritate me, the plot is interesting (as I find most PEACH-PIT titles to be), so this show is on my watch list. If only the producers could have done something with the songs... personally I hate metal (for lack of better term, which shows how much I'm not interested in the genre).
Being a TV Asahi title (back after a short hiatus), ZOMBIE-LOAN is very likely to be around 22-24 episodes, that is if there's enough manga material to cover.
