Keroko: Not nice.
Tesla: *recovering from a heavy fit of laughter* I know, but it was worth it. You should have seen the look on your face.
Keroko: Anyway, who’s next?
Name: Lieutenant Tycho Chelchu
Affiliation: TSAB Air Combat Division.
Military Rank: Lieutenant.
Mage Rank: A+
Call Sign: Rogue 2
Age: 28
Gender: Male.
Hair color: black
Magic color: green
Lieutenant Tycho Chelchu is Rogue Squadron’s Executive Officer, and sole responsible person for making sure Rogue Squadron existed long enough to make a name for itself.
Tesla: What does he mean?
Keroko: When Rogue Squadron was still the 88th, the unit was close to being disbanded due to lack of funding. Tycho is an expert at scrounging, and he managed to get the gear we needed at such cheap prices, that HQ allowed the unit to remain. Even after I joined, Tycho kept reining in the cheapest possible equipment.
Tesla: Convenient.
Keroko: You don’t know half of it. There were many times he managed to get equipment we weren’t even supposed to have.
Tycho is one of those type of characters that loves walking the line between law and crime. He never crosses it, and never has, but he is always dangling on either side. Even so, his loyalty is unquestioned, as are his talents. During the days after Captain Keroko’s departure, Tycho has filled the role of training officer, and has become responsible for many of the Squadron’s training schedules and protocols. He’s also the closest thing the Squadron has to a quartermaster.
Tesla: He’s balancing law and crime?
Keroko: Yup, the main reason he ended up in the 88th is because someone decided that he was balancing more to the line of crime then he actually did.
As I said, Tycho’s loyalty is unquestioned. He would willingly defy any and all laws in ever known universe to save someone he values, which is one of the reasons why everyone trusts his words on serious manners without question.
Tesla: Wow…
Keroko: *smiles* You know… Tycho is the main reason for the Squadron’s loyalty.
Tesla: Really? I don’t think so.
Keroko: Why not?
Tesla: Someone would have to inspire him to such loyalty…
But as loyal as he is to his allies, just as cruel is he to his enemies. Its common knowledge in the Squadron that Tycho’s list of kills is the third highest of the Squadron, only one of the few that gets even close to the Captain’s. Though this is mostly due to the fact that he is one of the few Rogues who is as comfortable on the ground as he is in the air.
Tesla: Kills?
Keroko: It’s not as dramatic as it sounds. In Rogue Squadron we tend to collect ‘kills’ as a sort of high score. Since the TSAB prefers capture above killing, kills are every target that has been incapacitated enough for capture. Of course, that is barring several missions we had where it was necessary.
Tesla: So ka…
Which brings us to Tycho’s combat abilities.
First of, his device. His device is called ‘Lusankya’ and looks like a small cylinder. When activated, it channels a green beam of magical energy similar to –for example- Captain Testarossa’s scythe form. This weapon is very light, giving Tycho an impressive freedom of movement. His blade fighting skills are matched by few in the Squadron.
His barrier jacket consist of grey boots, green-brown colored pants, and a gray shirt with several lighter gray linings.
His spells are rather different then most mages. Perhaps it would be best to explain this with a video file.
Tesla: Wait a minute… in the first scenes on that rainy world, that was a women!
Keroko: Oh yeah, that mission.
Tela: What happened?
Keroko: Well, it was an undercover mission, but we ran out of disguises before we had gotten to Tycho, so I asked Hayate for help.
Tesla: You ran out.
Keroko: Yup.
Tesla: And you asked Hayate for help.
K
eroko: Yup.
Tesla: And he agreed to go in the mission like that?
Keroko: Rogue Squadron had a unanimous vote.
Tesla: … You can be a terrible cruel person at times, you know that right?
Keroko: Nya ha ha ha!
As you can see, most of Tycho’s spells are long-term control spells rather then short bursts of energy. This control is achieved by manipulating tiny amounts of magical particles, a skill which we have called ‘Force’. Going down the line in order of appearance those spells are named:
Force Push: A blast of Force throws the enemy miles away. Basically, the first two moves are the same, but it goes to show how much a bit of concentration can matter in terms of strength.
Force Repulse: Again, the next two moves are virtually the same. Force Repulse works like Force Push, only that it targets everything and everyone in a radius around Tycho. Sending everything around him blowing away.
Force Lightning: By concentrating the magical particles and making them clash against each other, Tycho is able to generate lightning with far less difficulty then the average mage. In this case, it was also combined with Force Grip.
Force Grip: The ability to grab, throw, drop, swing any object, or person. I’ve seen people who underestimate Tycho get thrown around like rag dolls in ways far worse then what this enemy suffered. The most versatile ability in Tycho’s arsenal.
Keroko: Before I transferred, we were training in anti-AMF tactics as well. Tycho is now able to get most of the magical particles past the AMF largely unharmed; only striking when it is already too late.
Tesla: Heeeh? So, you mentioned this Ton guy a few times. What’s he like?
Keroko: Let’s look him up.
