Quick overview,
He's happy with all the support email but more importantly that Higurashi's message was understood by his fan base. Higurashi is not about the killings. There is a message that's repeated several times throughout the series, sometimes
blatantly. That message is: don't hold in all the pain to yourself and think that killing someone is your only answer to the situation. Talk to someone!
In season 1's ending, Keichi tells you this. In Minagoroshi Hen this is again reinforced. At the very least, Ryukishi is happy that the last episode aired proved that Keiichi's decision in Tatarigoroshi Hen was wrong, and there was a better way to approach the situation.
Ryuukishi thanks his fans for all their support since he wouldn't be able to bear this fate alone.
