Vita, Servant Berserker
Born Vitianna Schroeder, or Vita as her fellow Knights for aeons have called her, has been at war ever since she inherited the warhammer of her family at a tender age. Or rather, the weapon was forced upon her; In Nanoha/Cente Gravia, Vita recalls being the only survivor of a brutal attack from another baron. She also has sketchy memories of being in the service of a princess before becoming part of the Tome of Darkness.
In Nanoha/Cente Gravia, the Wolkies faced their hardest challenge in protecting Hayate, when she became the unfortunate target of 3 Servants and their Meisters. Despite successfully defeating the Servants, Signum, Vita and Tesla were mortally wounded, with Zafira and Shamal not that far from the edge either. Seizing the chance, another servant Assassin took advantage of the now defenceless girl. Vita, together with Signum and Tesla, wished for one more chance at any price, and the Tome of the Night Sky gave them that wish, bringing the Knights back as replacements for the Servants they defeated. Assassin was forced to make a hasty retreat.
However, the brief battle drained what little mana Vita, Tesla and Signum had, and they collapsed again.
After several upgrades by Marge Vinci and other scientists who saved the Wolkies’ lives, Servant Berserker Vita is capable of incredible feats like running up a wall and is a lot more sturdier than before. After that, her newfound habit of biting the bullet for others with Panzer Schild raised prompted Marge to nickname Vita “Goldytank” once. Marge treated Vita as though she was her own daughter too.
However, Marge and her colleagues were slain later in the conflict, leaving a massive hole in Vita’s already brittle heart...
It took a while before she warmed up to Midget in the coming years, but it is this tormented background, and after the several emotional rollercoasters ever since she became Hayate’s Knight, that Vita is fanatic about the safety of her friends and family.
MC 0071. 2Lt. Vita is Nanoha’s No.2 in the outfield-commanding Stars Squad. Vita, while maintaining a stern face in front of the Forwards and acting as the squad’s disciplinarian, shows that she is still hurt emotionally from the times she couldn't be there for Hayate and Nanoha. And she swore to go to extreme levels to protect them, whether the protected like it or not.
Powers
• Hammerform — The default mode of Graf Eisen.
• Raketenform (Missile Form) — Graf Eisen transforms into its more powerful rocket-propelled assault mode.
• Gigantform (Giant Form) — Graf Eisen grows to many times its (or for that matter, Vita's) size.
• Zerstörungform (Destruction Form) — Graf Eisen's, and Vita’s, Limiter Break. It combines Gigantform's size changing capabilities with Raketenform's rocket propulsion. As opposed to a metal spiked tip like the Raketenform, this form features a spinning drill as the tip.
• Transformation — Vita performs a group transformation with Signum and Shamal, or simply transforms.
• Telepathy — Not notable, as like flight and teleportation, all other mages in the Nanohaverse have it; however, her links appear to be strong with the other Wolkenritter, so it is tentatively listed here.
• Gegenstand kommt nah (Approaching Target) — Vita can use Graf Eisen to close in on a target.
• Nachladen — Not a real attack, just Graf Eisen reloading cartridges.
• Exprozion! — Also not an attack; Graf Eisen says this when using cartridges, analogous to the English-speaking devices' "Load cartridge."
Defensive Abilities
• Knight Armour — A red Gothic Lolita-style dress with black frills and yellow ribbons, a large red hat with plush rabbit heads, and black and red boots.
All these change to white and black when fused with Reinforce.
• Panzer Schild — Blocks all magical attacks coming from one direction with a triangular magic shield, much like Fate's or Nanoha's Round Shield.
• Pferd (Horse Speed) — Briefly boosts Vita's speed by summoning up a localized wind effect focused on her feet.
• Panzer Hindernis (Tank Barrier) — Creates a domed shield that protects against everything in Vita's field of vision, but fails to protect against attacks coming from behind.
• Eisengeheul (Iron Howl) — Vita gathers pulsing red and white energy in her hands and explodes it with Graf Eisen, creating a growing circle of spinning red winds around her. It is used as a distraction, the winds and noise being enough to chase birds out of their trees and catch the opponent off guard.
• Hammer von Gerechtigkeit (Hammer of Justice) — Another spell Vita picked up from Kha, but in effect focuses her Eisengeheul into a energy hammer that she then throws or smashes into a hapless target, trapping the target in a bubble of loud, bone-rattling ultrasonic waves that induces nausea or makes movement painful, effectively stunning the target for a short period.
Offensive Abilities
• Tödliche Strafe (Deadly Punishment) — Vita's opening attack, closely resembling the basic Midchilda spell Heroic Strike.
• Schwalbe Fliegen (Swallow Flier) — Vita produces up to four silver balls and strikes them with Graf Eisen. The balls home in on their target and explode.
• Komete Fliegen (Comet Flier) — Similar to Schwalbe Fliegen but performed with a much greater silver ball and Graf Eisen in Gigantform.
• Siegel Fliegen (Seal Flier) — Vita’s variation of Kha’s quintessential Siegel von Righteousness involves her creating a Siegel, then slamming it with Graf Eisen, allowing her to hurl the spellbomb like an RPG. The Siegel can be set to detonate on impact or to delay the fuse, allowing the round to burrow deeper into the target before exploding into the trademark cross of light.
• Beowulf Fliegen (Beowolf Flier) — Vita creates a swarm of the Schwalbe behind her, then sends them hurtling out in all directions, though most of them end up flying over her shoulders. Vita coupled this attack with Nanoha’s Full Blast Mode.
• Marge Kanone (Marge Cannon) — Named after the late scientist who worked saved Graf Eisen when he was almost rendered inserviceable in Nanoha/Cente Gravia by a powerful Servant, this small fusion beam gun hidden within Graf Eisen’s hilt is Vita’s Ace hidden up her sleeve, shooting it off when the opponent least expected it, like in the middle of a sword-cross. And by shrinking the size of Graf’s hammer head and pumping the mass to the hilt, Vita can create a bigger gun of a higher calibre.
It's firepower isn't strong, and even the gun-optimized version is nowhere near Divine Buster, but it's the surprise that counts.
• Raketen Hammer (Missile Hammer) — Vita spins Graf Eisen around several times in Raketenform before flinging herself at an enemy and using the rocket-assisted momentum of her swing to break through whatever shielding they have in place.
• Roaring Storm Gigant Crusher — Much like Fate's Jet Zamber, Graf Eisen stretches out to smash the enemy, however far away the enemy is from Vita's position.
• Goldigant Crusher — A combination attack with Subaru in her Limiter Break armor, Heart of Braves. By expanding Graf Eisen’s hilt then letting Subaru grab hold of it, Vita and her subordinate mage pump immense volumes of mana into Graf Eisen, causing him to swell into a size that completely dwarfs the linked mages. The subsequent swing can smash through several layers of reinforced protection. The attack trigger is the bloodcurdling roar of “Turn Into Light!”
• Giga Raketen Breaker — Similar to Gigant Crusher but is performed while Graf Eisen is in Zerstörungform, and adds rocket powered torque into its spin. It is based off the powerful drill attack of Illya’s servant Berserker.
