Starting with the (Rejected for HAXX) Prototype. (Battery Device first armor)
Contains the following weapons modes:
- A rifle mode with two firing rates, single and automatic.
- A Powerful concentrated heavy magic sniper rifle. (Lance Rifle)
- A rotary cannon with the ability to fire a homing missile styled attack.
- An artillery mode with two types of attack. A Low power rapid shot Bofors level, and an indirect fire MIRV artillery cannon mode as its Finishing Move.
The Armor has two inbuilt configurations.
- Ground Armor
- Air Superiority
And the following special abilities.
Super strength (physical)
MACH strafe
Howler Flare
Supercruise.
Adv. Long Range sensors.
All this combined as one unit is considered HAXX. I have argued as stubbornly as I could but have lost, and now must capitulate to demands. So I will break the armor into mission specific areas.
To retcon the issue, the Prototype armor (ASSAULT BATTERY PLATFORM or ABP, who's original device is known as BATTERY, and it's core AI system in possession of Crash.) will remain, but was deemed by review to be too costly, and too unwieldy for less than excelent mages. (The target group.) It has been put into mothball as a refference system for the new armor configurations.
Cooper, as a Robot fanatic, just does not want to drop it, and has decided to split the system.
The New system will contain three forms of the Armor that have yet to be tested, but are mission modular.
Adrenus (After monster 'adrenaline' rush)
Olympian (After mega athletes and the Olympics)
Sorin (Mutated word for Soaring, as of Soaring through the skies.)
Each one covers an area with limitations to remove HAX. (Some adjusting may still be required.)
ADRENUS:
TYPE: Berserker
Adrenus Armor has the express purpose of turning any mage using it into a magical sledgehammer. Adrenus armor consists of the heaviest plating. (Chobham Armor Composite.) The Grav. Drive has been removed, and the system focused on heavy attack and defense. The Paladin GRAND artillery weaponry has been set for the Adrenus, it uses only heavy attacks, meant to bulldoze entrenched positions from the ground.
It will contain the maximum defenses, the magic booster system similar to blaster, as well as magnified barriers. It has the Paladin GRAND attack device, capable of combat fire at a sustained rate during the 'sprint period'. (See Below) But can still be fired with longer charge and recovery times during limited mode.
Its drawbacks are lack of air mobility, and maximum power run-time. The armor can operate indefinately, but mages can only utilize maximum power amping for very short sprint periods, known as SPRINT TIME. (Do not confuse with Sprint Minutes... This is NOT a Cell Phone.)
It's status is still BEING REBUILT (Ask Cooper). And not tested, or approved for mass production.
Abilities: HEAVY armor, MASSIVE physical strength, HEAVY Barrier, HEAVY attack VIA Paladin GRAND , Iron Howl for emergencies.
OLYMPIAN:
This is the current armor configuration for crash. It is the general purpose armor for use as an augment to sustain a mage during the battle. IT emphisizes efficiency and ability management with a slight 'jack of all trades' focus (Or lack there of.) to better deal with rapidly changing situations.
It still retains augmented physical strength, but has a focus on attacking targets at range and speed. The armor is lighter than the Adrenus which makes it move more fluid on the ground, but is still heavy. This armor is equipped with the Grav. Drive to allow it to fly, but it manuevers about as well as a fighter jet. Luckly, it retains the speed of a fighter jet and then some.
To deal with finding targets at range, a stripped down passive sensor system that was originally put into the ABP is equipped, as well as a conventional short range active target analysis system normal to most devices.
It is armed with the rifle mode, as well as the Lance Rifle, and the Rotary cannon is removed... It has the MACH STRAFE ability equipped for emergency manuevers, and Howler Flares for countermeasures.
To propperly maintain function, this armor has emphasis on the M.A.D. Management susbsystem, which manages regular and magical energy in the armor to one of three tasks. Mobility, Attack, Defense.
It's drawbacks are its lack of heavy specialization in power or mobility. It's spammable weapons are innaccurate and it has no homing magics. Only in skilled or experienced hands can the armor live up to fuller potential. (Only in skilled hands can the tradeoffs of MAD be managed well enough.)
Status is TEST PHASE (Retrofitted by Cooper from Original ABP Armor into Crash's current configuration.).
Abilities: Shot rifle (single and rapid), Lance Rifle, MACH Strafe, Howler Flares. Medium Defense OR Medium Offense OR Medium Mobility (At any one time.)
SPECIAL: Conventional armament can be switched out for express use of the Paladin Grand, or the Cerberus/Bloodhound combat systems. Depending on mission status.
SORIN
Sorin armor removes the HEAVY from the heavy armor. With only strength to match a physically fit person, going with only light composites only making it moderately tougher than normal barrier jackets. Emphasis is on maximum speed, and Agility at the expense of both power and defense. One may ask, why armor at all? The answer is limiting the magic directed towards creating barriers to protect against mere atmospheric side effects as well as maintaining safe air levels at high altitude, or even space itself, leaving more magic for managing speed and manuevering.
Much of the sensor suite from the original ABP armor was emphisized here, putting importance on detecting and engaging the enemy strictly on the mage's own terms. The Grav Drive is used more extensively, as well as the Mach Strafe and the Bunny Hop (Multiple Hop Mach Strafe up to four rapid consecutive MACH stafes... Yet to be tested.)
The Rotary Cannon is strictly used here, and it has a beefed up version of the old BloodHound Breaker, given improved standoff ranges, and a 'finisher' mode of the attack with shorter range called Bloodhound Pack (taking a considerable amount of time to ready) that fires a three round shot.
Disadvantages are lack of effective defense outside manuevering, lack of stopping power (Outside of having enough time for a Bloodhound Pack.) Very iffy melee abilities with no melee weapons, and only a strength level matching a fit person.
Abilities: Max Speed sustainable at high mach number (4), cerberus, Bloodhound Breaker (and BB Extended), Bloodhound Pack. MACH Strafe, Bunny Hop (Untested), howler flares.
