I'm doubtful about depiction of any major battles as well. Maybe some passing mentions or a few quick flashes to the front lines for setting's sake.
iirc Novgorod was pretty deep in the German rear during 1942 and those kids were trained to operate behind enemy lines.
Some minor nitpicks over Nadya's katana, Zena's hair and Linz's facial design just keep on bugging me.
