Actually, no, which why I recommended it to him.

Kaede IS the main girl in the game, (I thiink) which is why Rin's eventual choice of the random green-haired senpai character such a giant twist.

In Shuffle at least, it made sense, since Kaede is completely insane and no one in their right mind would ever date that.
