Knight of Exodus Final draft
Name: Sigrid Odhinkar.
Northern Beskanti Army Rank: Squad Commander.
Mage Rank: Unknown.
Family: Sigrid’s parents died on Cancri. Angelika is her younger sister.
Sigrid was born into a wealthy and influential family of the Noble caste in Northern Beskanti. She was the first child to her parents and was in good care for her early childhood. From a young age she was taught the proper ways as any other Noble child would, learning the Northern way of speaking to those superior to oneself and how to interact with those if a lower caste.
When she reached the age of 8, it became evident that she had a powerful ‘gift’, and that she was a potential candidate for the ‘Knight of Beskanti’ program. She was recommended by her parents and she got evaluated by a few scientists.
Later on, after graduating from the program and continuing her training, she proved her worth as a Knight by climbing the ranks, until she became commander of one of the King’s personal military squads by the age of 22.
During this time she also helped her sister, Angelika, with various things due to her sister’s dysfunctional eye. She was highly protective of Angelika and they were close as sisters.
Sigrid fell into a deep depression following an incident a few weeks after her 23rd birthday, due to the war escalating and taking a new turn. One night while they had been sleeping, their household had been infiltrated by soldiers of an unknown faction and they had kidnapped Angelika for unknown reasons. They didn’t discover it until the early morning, but Sigrid never saw her sister again.
Angelika was assumed dead two months later, as no word had reached them about her.
Sigrid always shows a professional way of doing things and rarely get herself distracted by other matters if important tasks have to be completed. She can often come across as arrogant to people she do not know, due to her upbringing. However, if she becomes friends with anyone that got something she can respect, she will remain loyal and change her attitude.
She can be quite talkative if the situation suits her.
Sigrid is seen here in her normal attire and also her version of a barrier jacket. Beskanti Knights cannot transform, hence they always wear their BJ or any extra clothes they have.
Type: Combat Melee
Form: One, claymore.
Forseti is a combat type device, developed from technology taken off the ‘Himalaya’, a Belkan spacecraft that crashed on Cancri several hundred years ago. Since Forseti is based on the Belkan system, and is a melee weapon, it’s not surprising he has the shape of a claymore in different shades of grey and green. When using a spell, the blade itself glows faintly from the power it contains.
Forseti does not have a non-active shape, but retains his sword form at all times. This is due to technological limitations for the Beskanti scientists at the time of development. This makes Forseti a burden to carry around, but as a true Knight, Sigrid always carries him with her.
Forseti always address Sigrid as Lady and he speaks in the Northern Beskanti language, a language similar to a Scandinavian language with sources on Earth.
Sigrid is a melee fighter and has a wide knowledge in martial arts. She can make a stand without Forseti thanks to that, but she is more powerful if she engages with him wielded. Her martial art consist primarily of fast and precise movements to overwhelm the opponent with hits that inflict more damage depending on where she hits, opposed to overpowering her enemy with strength.
She can also combine her spells with various martial arts moves to increase damage.
Sigrid cannot fly at all.
Sigrid has few spells, but they are quite powerful or useful in some way or another.
: A fast but light attack consisting of several thrusts with Forseti. It’s easy to dodge, but does considerable damage if it hits.
Sigrid’s primary offensive spell. It produces a high amount of power streaming out of Forseti, empowering Sigrid so she becomes faster and more powerful. Forseti’s blade also becomes glowing and sharper, capable of cutting through most material.
The most powerful spell available to her, this attack is similar to Lejontand, in that it provides more power and makes Forseti more dangerous. However, in addition to that, this spell makes every swing with Forseti ranged. The range is short, but what would normally be a missing hit, could with this spell activated hit anyway and inflict deadly damage.
When cast, it summons an ancient warrior that is revered within the Beskanti society. She has her own spells and skills, and can be kept summoned for a short period of time. Beskanti technology has an effect on her armor and weapon, making them more modern-looking and powerful.
Chooser of Slain
The result of Sigrid’s Valkyrja Reveal spell.
Not much is known about the Chooser. It has been said she was the wife of a King many hundred years ago on a foreign planet and she is revered as a legend on Beskanti. It’s very rare that anyone can summon her.
She is capable of flight and fights in close-combat. Has a lot of similarity to Sigrid’s style, but can if needed provide more defensive capability.
Powerful melee attack.
Protective shield. It works for both the Chooser and her allies.
Temporary boost spell. It replenishes strength and heals small wounds for a period of time.
: Very odd spell considering she is a summoned being herself. Summons a melee warrior without spells, but who can stand against a lot of punishment. He can work fine as a distraction.
Beskanti civilization NOTE: Info regarding this might change in later chapters. This is a first draft.
Located on a planet called Cancri, the Beskanti society is, or was, a complex system containing nobles, kings and ordinary citizens. While the kings rule, the nobles do as they are told by the kings and move this information on to the citizens, and for years this system had been working flawlessly. While the nobles and kings had better standard than an ordinary citizen, there was not that much of a difference between them. The law ruled over all equally (except for the kings) and they all had a say in political matters.
The Beskanti was divided into four nations, each one operating with different rulings, but holding the same caste system as a whole. The relationships between the Northern, Eastern, Western and Southern Beskanti had always been bad and close to collapse, due to them being a proud warrior people that wouldn’t let another nation take control of them.
Some hundred years ago, a large spacecraft crashed on Cancri, carrying valuable technology. No one in the crew survived the crash, but Beskanti scientists immediately set forth to excavate it and began to develop upon the technology it carried.
After a few years, the whole Beskanti society entered the Space Age, as they had developed enough technology to enable space flight. After a lot of experimentation, both succeeding and failed ones, they finally develop a spacecraft capable of outer space exploration.
Not only did they develop machines capable of exploring space, they also found something called ‘Devices’, called so according to the extracted information aboard the crashed craft.
It also told them that the ship’s name was ‘Himalaya’ and had been constructed by a society called Belka.
Following this discovery, they made a goal to develop their own devices, based on this Belkan technology. The result was quite staggering and positive. A program was initiated, called ‘Knight of Beskanti’, to train promising youths together with devices and make use of some of their ‘gifts’.
However, during later years the citizens of Beskanti had shown distaste for the kings’ ruling. Taxes were raised, differences increased and it showed throughout their society that the situation was destabilizing…
No backstory for Sigrid in the profile, incorporating that in the main story.
Beskanti is my own creation, still being developed as I go. The planet Cancri has not been discovered by the TSAB.
Since they have not had any contact, they work a little different when it comes to magic, devices and such. Therefore, Sigrid does not have a mage rank as there isn't an equivalent to it. Also, the devices are based on Belkan system, but works differently due to Beskanti's own technology. (After feedback, seems like Rank are possible to determine.)
The 'gift' that is mentioned is in fact a Linker Core, but the Beskantis have no name for it. They are also a fairly religious people, so it wouldn't be impossible to think they consider it a gift from a higher being.
Language used for the spells are swedish. And if it isn't clear, Sigrid has a swedish/norwegian accent while Forseti speaks in swedish (although modified).
It's mainly an AU, but I think it can follow canon. Events in main story set after StrikerS OR season 4 manga, depending on how that will be.
For balance or dehaxxing, Sigrid is already weaker than any character of the main cast, but makes up for it in diversity and cunning. She also cannot fly, use telepathy or have any defensive spells. She do have a Barrier Jacket though, but she don't "transform". Another technical impossibility for Beskanti scientists. However, Shari might have something...
Finally, this is a compromise between me wanting to write original but not having enough ideas. I haven't written in I don't know how long, but this idea has been forming for quite a while.
I guess what I'm looking for is ideas, opinions and such. Since Beskanti is not Nanoverse per se, ordinary dehaxx might not go...although I don't know it all so.
More info in main plot, whenever the first part gets out.
