By training Sasuke, they would have the a weapon to counter Itachi's abilities. Jiraiya himself said to Kakashi that he needs to train Sasuke because Itachi joined the Red Moon Organization. They can train Sasuke by means of defending themselves against Atatsuki, but I highly doubt that they would train Sasuke so they he can seek revenge. Thus leaves the two sannins. Tsunade has shown little interest in him as has Jiraiya who doesn't like to train geniuses like you've pointed out.
Well Sasuke was not going to go to Orochimaru until the Sound Four decided to beat him up and promise him power to kill Itachi.
