From what i see, the second season picks up where the first season deviated from the manga. None of the second season i see so far is a repeat of the first season.
As for how you should watch, it's up to you. If you only care for following the manga plot then stop and switch to the second season, however i found most eps of the first series quite enjoyable. It is more of an episodic comedy than a plot-line show like the manga and the second season, but still very funny and enjoyable.
