Thinking about it, if the author do that it would feel very forced, there are 21 volumes!!! Is too late to suddenly introduce her(or other character) from the science side to the magic side only because... the fans wants??
Ah! and that can destroy the balance between both sides introducing a noob about magic, what if she tries to do some magic?? She would be dying in the process, and I'm sure of two facts:
a) Her fans don't want to see her hurted or died.
b) There are more than one group who are not going to allow a flight from one of the two sides.
