b) Haruhi is infamous, and this show seems like it's trying to draw on that 'popularity', is all we're saying.

That's not what it is.
Like I said, this is pretty much The Plot of Bleach but With Haruhi Characters. It's such a blatant ripoff that, frankly, I don't see how this could be any good if the show isn't aware of what it is.
I'd expect Haruka Tomatsu to be voicing Yurippe... she could definitely do the kind of voice Yurippe's character type is usually associated with.
