Can only say welcome to the wonderful world of commercialised nerfing. The company that first did the dubbing [Nelvana=evil] was chasing the money and didn't do enough homework on the material. It's also widely regarded as the worst dubbing job in the history in the business. Thing is, I wouldn't have minded as much if they just toned down the male/idol love, lolita complex and some suggestive themes dealing with incest [for anyone who hasn't a clue what this show is about- none of the above actually happens though there is heavy innuendo at times], but the company in question basically destroyed the core of the show with their edits.

Sakura Card Captor is basically a retelling of Pandora in a modern setting, a young girl opening a bookfull of trouble and having to fix it before doomsday. It's centre is here and everything is is just ancillary to it. So I was more than a little miffed when the focus of the dub was not on the girl but on a male supporting character. Some dumb studio exec thought it was more profitable to go after the male demographic, the never figured that the ppl who watch and love this show aren't divided by gender: they just do since it's a beautifully crafted story.

Avoid the dub at all cost and get this one uncut: too cute and sweet to miss
