And the problem with going that route was that there was no way it could have worked. I highly doubt Subaru would go back to someone who thought she was cheating when she just wanted to see a friend, and IMO for Teana the divorce was still too fresh. Besides, who says they won't date other people after? In the end it's all up to interpretation.
