I admit, I did think that the fact that women became more powerful than men thanks to the I.S. was an interesting plotline, but it wasn't fleshed out enough.

As for what I meant, for the most part, popular series deliver the audience's expectations, but they also deliver something unexpected. Madoka Magica did this. Durarara almost did this. Infinite Stratos didn't really make much of an attempt to stand out amongst other series like it besides combining females in mecha with harem. I don't think it's a bad show, but at the same time, it's not a good show.

Basically, it all comes down to the fact that I can't really see how it achieved its cult status. I guess I'll just have to accept that it's something I'm missing.
