I stressed the important part. Nakabachi should have kept the paper in his handbag. The paper burned due to a fire in the cargo bay but the passengers were unharmed. Also, he should have committed the theory to memory already. The destruction of the documents preventing WWIII is a huge plot device IMHO.

Or he could have scanned and
sendspaced the documents and retrieved them when he got to Russia and not worry about the paper copies.
