This was very much not the episode you're expecting (unless you're psychic or very strange). So the hype was right: you'd never see this episode in any other anime.
My advice is if you need subs, just wait for subs: it's mostly a talking episode with a couple twists, and the twists will be better if you know what people have been saying. So if you're in doubt I'd advise you to wait, because watching the raws will ruin the impact of the twists for when you finally see it and know what's happening.
