I mean. After knowing the match ups and being informed that Laxus is going up against one of them they just suddenly decide to 'put their plan in action'. Idk. I guess i'm deluding myself too much after seeing that one small panel with Laxus showing his rape-face & his Dad just being there commenting on Cana.
In short i'm just guessing for whatever reason, Raven Tail's true target is Laxus. It could have something to do with .. idk. Him being a Lacrima-created Dragon Slayer or something.
