I agree that if this was a real life situation inside of a MMORPG, it would take some incredible feat to pull off beating the game w/o dying.
What I think works in the players' advantage is maybe that you can out-level the content therefore everything's easier, and that you can have no limit on the size of the raid party in an encounter.
