The Gamilas Empire seems fairly large (the graphic moves rater fast so I can't exactly the extent of it in galactic terms) The two Magelenic Clouds and at least part of the Milky Way are safe to claim as well as anything between Gamilas and Earth.

With an Empire that large, with multiple species intergrated ito the society, they will have a vast fleet. Not only to hold onto existing territories, but also to expand the Empire. We know they are engaged in at least two conflicts as of 2199. A 8 year long backwater war with Earth and an unknown length conflict with Gatlantis in the Small Magellenic Cloud. It is likely they are engaged in other fronts as well to varying degrees, but the Comet Empire front would seem like their most important as that is where Dommel is stationed (though if World War II history is applied, Rommel was assigned to Africa while the bulk of the German Army was engaged in Russia.) Yamato has become a threat to the Empire, but to what scale is unclear from a Gamilas point of view. It has left a large amount of dead in its wake so far, but who knows what sort of damage the Comet Empire is going along a larger front.

The Fleet seen to this date employs massive numbers of a destroyer type ship, and large numbers of two cruiser types. We see less battleships, battlecruisers, or carriers in formations. Usually one battleship in a fleet with maybe a battlecruiser leading large squadrons. Sometimes with light carrier support. However while the Pluto Fleet had over 120 ship by the start of 2199, Dommel's Fleet has thousands of ships. One would assume that there are other large Fleet elements in other regions of the Empire, unless the front with the Comet Empire is drawing massive amounts of resources, and the situation from what we can gather is not desperate on that front, but that might be due to Dommel's skills more than the actual situation.

Spoiler for Dommel's Forces:

The original series put Dommel's Fleet at around 3,000 ships. Mostly newer model destroyers or cruisers. We never see what happens to this fleet it I recall. Later he gets carrier reenforcements from other fronts. Yet only one carrier from each front. No escorts. No other capital ships. We don't see Gamilas fleet elements engage Yamato after Dommel's defeat, save for Dessler's lone Command Cruiser (which I'd like to see what they've come up with for its redesign along with the battlecarrier). At least not until the Second Series.

The descriptions for Chapter 5 of Yamato 2199 suggests that Dommel's combined forces at Balun is in the order of 10,000 ships. Something tells me they are going to suffer serious loses over Balun. A loss of that many ships would put a strain on the Empire for sure. Combine with with other loses before and after Balun and probably the Battle at Gamilas, the Empire will need to pull forces back from other fronts to defend the remaining worlds and probably to blunt the Comet Empire...if that is even possible after what destruction Yamato might bring to the Gamilas Empire.

From the notes on Dommel's flagship there are at least two more of its class in service. I think one under the command of Goer's superior (Zoellik) and I think one under either the Admiral of the Fleet (Dietz) or Dessler himself. So that limits there huge Space Battleship numbers by a lot. The other two types of battleships are likely more command and the battlecruisers probably even more so. The carriers might be in small supply as we have three of the class that are all customized. Not only different colors, but also different configurations, probably based on how much each was refitted over time.

The question would be, "What will happen to the Gamilas Empire after Yamato presumably completes her trip to Iscandar and back?"

Spoiler for Specualtion:

Depending on just how vast the Gamilas Empire is, it might include the region that would be the Galman-Gamilas Empire in Yamato III. Especially since we already have ranking officers of that period serving Gamilas in 2199. So it is possible that the Gamilas Empire survives Yamato and the Comet Empire from 2199-2202 or whenever before Dessler reclaims his seat of power on Galman.

However one wonders how much of the Empire was overrun by the Comet Empire, or if the Alliance was to blunt that take over by conceding parts of the Empire to Gatantis (for the favor of saving Dessler's life and allowing him to have his Revenge on Yamato). The renewed Earth with its superior technology Wave Motion Guns, but small fleet would seem like juicier target than a ravaged Gamilas that still might have thousands of ships and potentally multiple rebellions in progress. Zordar could easiler go back for Gamilas after taking Earth and incorperating the new technology into this fleets. Plus he could be aware of other Empires out there that Earth and Gamilas don't encounter until later.

And while it is not certain, it is always possible that some of these other "Empires" Yamato encounters in later series and films are break away forces from the Gamilas or races they were engaging on other fronts in 2199. While the Dark Nebula Empire seemed to be an unknown to Dessler (new to the region, or were engaged with Gatlantis on the other side of their Empire) the Bolar and Dengail seem familiar enough to Dessler. One being his enemies and the other seeingly more an annoyance based on how fast he takes care of the problem. Though the Local Galaxies are a big place. Once could go millenia and never encounter a civilization, even a interstellar traveling one.

We know the Galmas rebuilt their fleets rapidly and that Gamilas ships were still used in the Empire. And most Galman designs have similar features to older Gamilas ships, and with Yamato 2199, some of the newer Gamilas ships are displaying features found in later Galman ships.

Plus the Dimentional Submarines. Can't forget those or their commanding officer.
