It's interesting you noticed that particular reference. I'm surprised (but pleasantly so). Regarding Andromalius...
Spoiler:
There's a lot to him, but I wouldn't get too caught up in figuring out "who he is." While he has a vessel and is associated with that sort of thing, the demon version of him is as much a character unto itself as anything he "represents." He has motivations and desires outside his "purpose" in the story, and he has an agenda in the meta-world setting. I'd think of it like Ronove/Virgilia/Gaap having independent characterization outside of what they "represent." He does represent something, and it's very important to the story, but he's also just kind of a jackass demon with a strange job, a stranger existence, and a particularly... something... reading style. Who is reading Battler this story for a reason he has yet to disclose.
I hope to release the backstory TIP to give more insight into how he thinks. It might alter speculation on what he's doing in the story. He's very talkative at times, but it's something else to know his thoughts I suppose. He doesn't experience a significant amount of development in Part 5 (at least the first "half").
EDIT: Also consider how Andromalius explicitly framed his own invincibility. He can be hurt, but he can't be killed, and this is somehow a property of who or what he is.
