Assad could have held off the civil war indefinitely. But if he wants to attack Israel at the same time I would say he is toast. War on two fronts is never a good idea.
I would celebrate, but I see no reason to. After he falls, things won't get any better or worse for the region.

It was suck big time for the Christians and Awaities, but one is Assad's own tribe (so oh well), and Christians love getting prosecuted anyway.
