On the contrary, I still believe turn-based has a place in this day and age (See Legend of Heroes series, SMT), although whether or not there's a market for it is another thing altogether.
Also, never bring Skyrim into the picture to convince me, I find the combat horribly boring there. Just as there are good and bad turn-based, there are also good and bad arpgs.
Anyway, back on topic. I'm really interested in how the combat in ff15 would work, because I honestly can't tell how much of it was actually being controlled. If anything, the whole trailer, as good as it looks, felt very scripted to me.
