As for the show, yes, it's true: a time-skip would make Hikari x Miuna at least possible. I don't expect it, but it's possible. Of course, she might by then be his niece.... In any case, there is something similar between them, in their determination and uncontrollability.
The notion that halflings (or "quarterlings", which Tsumugu may be?) might be able to grow an ena is interesting. Or maybe they could give birth to kids with an ena, under the right circumstances?
