How is he going to add her into his harem otherwise then? If he can't beat alice, he have no chance with erina and you and me both know he is going to beat erina too if he want to add her. Beside the main dish for this arc is the ninith seat guy after all, so him losing in the final mean he won't even get an unofficial match with the guy.
