Nope, no Death Note anime... I doubt it will ever happen. The idea has come up a lot, but people are reluctant to animate it because they believe it is "too dark" for TV. And even if it was animated, it would be a LOT of talking. Talk talk talk.
So the closest we'll get to Death Note anime is that episode of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid that randomly had Death Note characters in it. :P
And though Death Note will probably never be animated, this year we have TWO live-action Death Note movies to look forward to instead!
