It was not flip-flopping. He was always against Saazbaum, but it was only after, Asseylum was shot when he forcibly matured into a darker, resolved person, that was now willing to kill another. Before that? Yes, he was naive and wavering and really only killed others during emotional outbursts. Not so much now.
