They seem to be going for an anime original ending, I wonder how they plan on ending Tokyo Ghoul. They could still get back on track if they want to though, it's not too late. The only major inconsistency I can think of with :re is

It looks like his leg was badly crushed and with all the moving around he did and him getting toyed with and thrown about by Eto, they'll probably make it that they can't save his leg and it'll need to be amputated.
