Yep, endless tournament arc with the same pattern as the previous season which is Ayato and the rest vs a bunch of jobbers. Nothing new or interesting so far, also Ayato is one of the worst MC's ever, really close to Ichika levels of bad.
I prefer the OP of the first season too, it was much better than this one. As for the animation keeps the same QUALITY so there is no much improvement but the backgrounds on certain scenes were really good.
It was interesting how the japanese audience reacted to this first episode, because it was even worse than the first episode of the previous season (by the way I'm talking about the streaming).
