because probably not all peoples ended fulling devoured, as we see the devour process is very slow and can take a lot of days or even weeks, it's based on the victim grudge and personal desire to "go back in time" the more deep it is big will be the ammount of time the demon will eat from that person also probably they must make the person fall in a sort of illusion where they deep desire/wish are being garanted since they are getting "young", they must start to believe which they are getting what they want (liek brainwash) while what the demon is just doing eating they time, them the more obssessed the person is more fast will be they death, the less they are them more time will take for the demon to devour them, take then like the "succubus which also normally don't kill the victim in just "one night" the more the victim does sex with them more of his life will be sucked until he finally of lust.
