No Marimo is dead at least in Alternative timeline of the VN.
Project Mikhail's story mode is supposedly done with the idea of unlocking potential plots by doing mission. It's like maybe if Takeru save Kashiwagi, then you'd have a scenario where Kashiwagi is alive.
Either way, i don't think we should use Mikhail to compare to the VN, because it's done with different focus.
