Spoiler for final thoughts:
First, as far as an anime adaption goes, this is definitely top-notch. I mean, crap, the animation is so good, you can tell how much effort is put into making this.
However, there are a few problems with the anime, albeit... the story, which I believe is faithful to the original source, and thus not necessarily the anime adaption's fault
1.
People keep getting healed, so no one really dies despite all of the battles
However, to be honest, I am fine with this, because healing in fantasies have always been pretty... convenient, you know? Someone can be healed until they apparently suffered enough wounds to not be able to heal. In real life, yes.
But a world where magic can do so many things? Hmmm... Iffy.
So yeah, sure, heal all you like
2.
Practically every single character having some kind of sad past that makes them not seem as evil as they were originally presented
It honestly became hard to ignore after being so overused
Still, I wouldn't say it fell flat doing this. But just that, I couldn't help but notice this being done over and over and over again
3.
The biggest problem, and the reason I can't give this a 10/10 is that the after everything that has happened in 2-cour,
The person who is the cause of everything evil
And that other guy who just did nothing but be imprisoned in his own body
Gets EVERYTHING the protagonist worked for
You can't depict Miranjo being so ruthless if you are just not going to punish her and even do the opposite and reward her
And the hell Bosse, why are you going with their moms? You need to go to hell too! You are equally guilty for all the events that occurred.
so 9/10
Slipped at the end, so very, very unfortunate.
But hey, if it wasn't for this anime, the past two seasons would have been even darker.
Except the last episode.
So yeah, this season...
